The Fort St. John Senior Flyers were finally able to break a two game losing streak Saturday night with a 4-2 road win over the Falher Pirates.

The Flyers lost back-to-back games this week against the Dawson Creek Senior Canucks but were able to rebound against the surprise east division leading Pirates.

Troy Hunt was finally able to notch his 100th career NPHL win after the Canucks spoiled his chance at the milestone Tuesday night in Fort St. John. Hunt made 41 saves in the win Saturday.

Joey Massingham stepped up his offensive game for the Flyers, scoring twice and adding an assist.

Jeff Shipton got the Flyers on the board first against the Pirates before assistant captain Jeff Fast scored 17 seconds later. Massingham also scored in the first and added his second of the night two minutes and 26 seconds into the second period. Massingham now leads the Flyers with 14 points in eight games this year.

Rick Cleaver finished the game with three assists and now has 11 points in eight games this season.

The Flyers will host the Spirit River Rangers on Friday, Dec. 4 before heading to High Prairie on Saturday.

The Friday home game will be the third matchup this season between the Rangers and Flyers, with Fort St. John snagging a thrilling shootout win in the last contest.
