An Allan Cup in Fort St. John, the home team beats its old rival in the championship final … and not a single blog post from yours truly.
 
Well, to be fair, Mike and I were a little busy last week, what with broadcasting all 11 games. And to be honest, it was just awesome.
 
I certainly count myself lucky to have had the opportunity to call a big event like that, let alone broadcast the Flyers winning the national championship on home ice. You just can’t buy an experience like that.

Flyers Head Into Allan Cup

 

In October of 2008, the Senior Flyers were awarded the hosting rights for the 2010 Allan Cup.
 
Since then, the team, the city, and the organizing committee has been working, preparing, and dreaming, about arguably the biggest event ever to come to the Energetic City.
 
The waiting is over.
 
On Monday, April 19th, Canada’s best senior hockey teams will kick off competition, as they battle to become amateur champions of the country. 
 

Flyers Sweep Senior Mohawks

 

The Flyers completed the sweep of the Prince George Senior Mohawks on Sunday, to head into the Allan Cup on a high-note.

Fort St. John got a pair of goals from Kip Noble, as well as singles from Rod Stevens and Chris Stevens, in a 4-2 win.

Flyers Win Games 1&2 in Prince George

 

The Senior Flyers posted wins in the first two games of their three-game exhibition series this weekend in Prince George.
 
On Friday night, the Flyers took a 7-1 victory, led by a pair of goals from new recruit Mike Hofstrand. Also scoring were Tyler Brough, Arlo Hadland, Paul Wiens, Gerard Dicaire, and Andrew Derton.
